Blogging, an opinion, a challenge!

Blogging is a challenge on some days and on other days it appears to be very easy.  Words seem to flow out of your brain and you are very proud of yourself.  Then comes the hard part, putting it together into some type of plan that you can share with others.  You think to yourself, man, I did a good job, but the comments are sparse and you wonder where did I go wrong.

So my plan of action is to work even harder to figure out what it is that people are interested in and why! Then how can I help them solve that issue?

My blog has a (what I call a drop down) that is appealing and has a nice article on how to prepare to have a relaxing physician visit, that you can put up on a bulletin board and use again.  All you have to do is leave me your e-mail address.

The second part of my plan of action is to send a newsletter monthly with bits of fun news, good information  on home, family and health, which I hope everyone will find enjoyable#challengingblog#interestingjournal#sparsecomments

Great Grandparents! We are feeling excited and blessed.

Just found out this last week that our granddaughter and her husband are going to become parents.  Needless to say we are all very excited, but it is too soon to begin buying baby presents.  That doesn’t mean I can’t blog about babies though.  They are part of my niche, home, family and health / fitness.

Looking forward this summer to attending a baby shower, and as I have had plenty of experience, I believe it is alright to express a thought or two.

There is just nothing like going to a shower where the mother-to-be comes home with 15 onesies.  Onesies are nice and very useful, but how about putting some thought into some other gifts.  In writing this blog I consider getting onesies from everyone not cool.  So I am going to help you become cool, or at least think about becoming cool.

  1. Diapers as a gift! I know not exciting, not cute, not fun. Boy oh boy they sure do cost money. Can never have too many diapers, unless everyone decides to buy infant sizes. Maybe the next size up!  Babies grow so fast.
  2. Outfits-With most couples knowing the sex of the baby before it is born, nice outfits are easier to find. I once bought an outfit, for a baby, in a hurry and knew as soon as I got it home, it was wrong!  I took as a gift anyway and thought never again.  I need to be happy with what I buy.
  3. Little boys seem to have it harder than little girls. The fashion word is finally starting to catch up and there are some #handsome#babyboyoutfits#dashingbabyboyoutfits, out there.
  4. Tons of little girl outfits available#darling#glamorous#enchantinglittlegirloutfits.
  5. Baby blankets needed, especially if the home you have is not insulated well. I see more people out with their small ones, when the temperature is in the 40’s without blankets covering them.
  6. What about going together with a couple of friends and getting some of the necessities of baby life. Think about a nice diaper bag, a changing pad to use when there is no place else to change the baby, a baby monitor, a stroller (don’t go overboard on a stroller- discuss this especially with mom and dad.  Too elegant a stroller sometimes becomes nuisance.
  7. A basket of necessities – Breast pads if mom is going to breast feed, a breast pump, diaper rash ointment, hand lotion for mom, baby wipes, a pacifier (if allowed).
  8. So many other ideas running around in my head.  Pinterest has information on #baby registries#babyswings#carseats to name a few things, as I am sure Amazon does too. At least I have given you my thoughts on being cool at a baby shower.

Eclectic! Maybe not, expressions of love for Mother’s and Father’s Day

For a long time I have sometimes thought, Dads are not as celebrated on Father’s Day as are Mother’s on Mother’s Day.  Whenever I see Dads at restaurants on Father’s Day, I think!! Oh boy, I bet they are loving this.  Now I could be all wrong, but, can’t help wondering.  Here are a few odd ball selections you may or may not like for these two holidays.

1.One of the pins on my Pinterest that always attracts attention is the cup, just a white cup with this saying on it NO MATTER WHAT LIFE THROWS AT YOU, AT LEAST YOU DON’T HAVE UGLY CHILDREN. I clicked that cup today and it took me to an Etsy site.  The cup is there, with that saying and listed for both Mother’s Day and Father’s Day.  When I put that cup out on my site, it just struck my fancy.#memorablesayings#happysayings#thoughtfulsayings

2.What about considering Young Living EssentialOils#nice#aromatic#citrus#woods#peppermint for the woman in your life. What a wonderful thing to learn about. It is my understanding that men are also showing a great interest in essential oils and there are even some products available for men.  You might be someone who has trouble sleeping and would be interested in oils that might help.  Go to selectionsfrombarb (my blog). The two last statements under Young Living Essential Oils (are links, click) There are two forms, one for those wanting to join and one for those wanting to shop and buy.  My membership number is 17486785 there.  We have many things for you to look at such as essential oils, beauty supplies, household supplies, diffusers to make your house smell so nice.

3.Homemade aprons for either mom or dad. Teenagers who have had experience sewing could make one or two. A big coverall apron with nice #roomypockets#placeforgrillingtools#placeforrecipewhenbaking Use a fun fabric pattern that no one else has.  Maybe animals, scenery, flowers, fish or a very unusual food feature.  Good patterns on Pinterest under sewing. If you can’t sew, a big apron with tools for grilling would be great.

4.Saw this mentioned somewhere on Pinterest a book of I will do for you by this date. That might be nice for either mom or dad from a small child or even a teenager. Maybe especially from a teenager. A booklet nicely decorated with coupons  such as- I will #takeouttrash#notpickonyoungerfamilymembers#helpkeepthehouseclean#smile#becaring#nobadmouthing#notbreakcurfew  Maybe an old idea but might be nice for everyone if the family needs some retraining.  I’m sure there are tons of things that could be put on the coupons. Brainstorm!

February – Right around the corner,Ground Hogs day, Valentine’s Day and Spring Cleaning!

February – Where did January go? Before we know it Spring will be here. When I was young our mothers always did what was called spring cleaning. Believe me we all worked. So I am thinking about my spring cleaning list or the big to do list. If you can not afford to get someone to assist you then start by doing the smaller things yourself. Be creative to see if you can get help from members of your family. Here is the list I have begun:

Declutter -That literally means getting rid of things. Like tearing up old lists, and other paperwork. Getting rid of old newspapers and magazines. Going through pictures, saving what you want and putting the others in albums. My office is a perfect example of something that needs decluttered. These are just suggestions and I am sure you have many more. Sometimes decluttering projects can cause big discussions between family members. Hang in there and think how good, how clean everything will be if you follow through.

Clean the Closets
Try on clothes that have been in your closet for a while. If you don’t wear them or they don’t fit anymore, put into a bag. When that bag is full, as fast as your legs can carry you, take it to the nearest thrift or donation center. Do the same thing with all your closets. Look at shoes, articles on the top shelves. We all know the routine but you have to start and follow through.

New Paint? – Inside or out! What colors! Inside you need to think what preparation has to be done if painting is the name of the game! Carpets do they also need shampooing after the painting is done?

Start your list for flowers and gardens. Many people probably have already done this. If someone is really passionate about gardening and has a green house or a basement to start seeds, they might already be doing this.

Young Living Essential Oils

New adventure promoting Young Living Essential Oils. I am truly impressed with how they work on the highest quality of their oils and the messages they send out with their Seed to Seal process.

I am what is called a newbie, but that is OK. Right now I am a newbie in several areas. Always trying to learn.

We love using lavender in our diffuser. It has made such a difference in our sleeping patterns. I used to stay up at night from about 1AM to 4AM, after I had read for about an hour in bed. This was not a one night thing, but something I knew would happen repeatedly. Since Christmas when we started using our diffuser (another blog) with 4-5 drops of lavender oil and distilled water. I usually sleep most of the night. I can honestly say I have only gotten up one night and then I only stayed up about an hour. It has been amazing. My husband is interested learning about other oils now. For example what can be blended and what can not.
Just got some new oils(new to me) to try out and I will share the results and my husbands thoughts with you. If you have any questions let me know. If you are interested in what else is available, I have listed my member number below to use to find out about membership and distributor ship.

January -for a tech deficient relatively new blogger, was extremely busy!

January has absolutely flown by. With the helpful expertise of our grandson (Will- college graduate) my blog has improved, all the design work on my Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest, has been with the creative influence of Will. Hope you have visited one of those sites to see what has been accomplished and what is a work in progress. He is so talented and can make a computer literally fly.

We have met two times now and each time I am totally amazed at what he can accomplish. I tell him what I know needs done and he gets it. Some times I totally understand and other times I honestly say, “I could never, in a hundred years have done that by myself. We do not always agree on colors and designs, but eventually we come to something we both like.

He understands that this is all new to me. We did not do this type of thing when I was in college. Even then this is not what I would have thought I would ever be doing. Now everything is intriguing, interesting and certainly a new education for me.#techdeficient#newblogger#creativeinfluence.
